Roempi
A simple sip to experience Indonesia.
Roempi is a teaset inspired from Teh Poci, a traditional tea-drinking habbit from a small city in Indonesia called Tegal.

Teh Poci main components are teapot, tea cups, and rock sugar.

What makes this interesting is because this habit holds a deep concept as a way of socializing. They will gather with friends and family after their working hour. That is the time for locals to share and discuss on any issues.

The ritual itself encourages people to talk to each other, and the rock sugar plays a part; after putting the rock sugar inside the teacups and pouring the tea, the drinker will have to wait for the sugar to dissolve as it does not require stirring. That  way, the interval between preparing and drinking the tea will be long enough for people to start a conversation among themselves.
The name Roempi is derived from Indonesian word means to have a chat. The name is chosen as a symbol of the strongest value of Teh Poci.

The main material of Roempi is terracotta, it is the same material with the traditional teapot. Terracotta was chosen to keep the traditional feeling to the product. But there are new componets added to give new values to the product; teapot sleeves, tea cup sleeves, sugar and snack tray, and individual packagings of rock sugar.
Rattan and wood are added to the set to give variation and twist to the new product. Beside giving new texture, it also gives interesting pattern that can not be found in the traditional teapot.

The sleeves aim to help keeping the tea warm and to prevent the hand from getting burned.
The snack plate was added as the locals always have snack to accompany during the tea-drinking time.
There will be two rock sugar in each indivual packaging to stress the point of sharing with the other. Each packaging also contains a theme or a topic that is written on the bottom. This topic aims to be a conversation starter for the drinkers.
