Magazine Moto. May 2014. Magazines and Duct Tape. 

 

This piece is wearable art made from recycled magazines. It was featured in the ManneqArt stage show in September of 2014. It is also in the 2015 ManneqArt Calendar which has been published and distributed nationally. Also it was on display in September at the Horrowitz Gallery in Howard County and is currently on display in Downtown Silver Spring.

Another experiement in wearable art made out of recycled magazines. This dress was featured in the September 2014 ManneqArt stage show and is featured in the 2015 calendar. This is another wearble art piece. It is being featured in this years ManneqArt stage show and will in the 2016 Calendar. It is also currently on display in downtown Silver Spring.

I sewed both outfits using recycled knit wear, sheer fabric, and repurposed leather/pleather.

Powerful In My Skin. Performance/ Costume. November 2014. Fabric, Netting, Wig, Makeup. 

 

This costume was an exploration of body image. I attempted to find a place in light of the recent celebration of Halloween, where girls dress up as "Sexy" everything, where I could feel sexy in the same way. Everything is hand sewn, the wig and shoes were found objects.

Rock'n'Roll Bride. Costume/ Performance. October 2014.

This costume experiment was an exploration in the idea of wedding culture and what it means to be a "bride" without the wedding. It was also an experiment in distressing. I distressed the wedding dress and also outfitted the entire cast of the photo shoot. This is the beginning of an ongoing series of explorations in the role of different bridal characters.
