This is a webpage banner for YoYo Yogurt On Your Own. The "food art" and photography were done by myself as well. The yogurt didnt do well under the hot lights at all... So we opted for something fake.

 

The standard recipe for fake icecream is confectioners sugar mixed with cake icing. The confectioners sugar gives it the texture that real icecream would have.

 

In this case the client was wanting more of a soft serve look - to do that I omited the confectioners sugar and just piped the cake icing around the outside of the cup while individually placing the M&Ms against the side. The icing was then again piped on top of the cup to finish the soft serve look. Half of a real spoon was then placed in, and  it was frozen so that real condensation formed on the cup when we brought it under the lights. Overall - I was very satisfied by the images that we got!
