KINFOLK GATHERINGS are the event series started in 2012 by the KINFOLK magazine based in Portland, Oregon, USA. These events take place concurrently on a chosen weekend each month and aim to unite a global community of Kinfolk readers. One of those events are Kinfolk dinners.

 

The chosen theme of May 2014 was “L’Esprit de la Mer” - "Spirit of the sea" - dinners based around the concept of saltwater and the sea. In Madrid the dinner took place in Toma Cafe (c/ La Palma, 49).

 

For the dinner the space was specially decorated with hand-lettering - menu was written in different types of typography right on the walls of the cafe.
