I wish to show a balance between different cultures. The mix between traditional Korean and modern hip-hop is a representation of myself as a Korean-American. I believe that this juxtaposition of traditional conservative and flashy hip-hop is interesting because they are on opposite spectrums, but they fuse surprisingly well. Because these looks are related to my own identity, I focused on dancing clothes, because dance and music are big parts of my life. The performative clothing gives way for exciting things since it showcases movement and emotion. It is ostentatious yet controlled, as to not distract from the dance but to exaggerate every movement instead. The contrast in music and dance exemplifies how different Korean tradition is from American tradition, yet the blend creates an interesting hybrid that is avant-garde yet cultured.

The cold, hard, uselessness of the bows stand as unwelcoming and represent how femininity can at times have a negative connotation. The placement of the bows in a display case alludes to insects on display for inspection, which is something I find intriguing yet disturbing.
