This project is about transforming spaces and volumes into rooms for habitation. Moreover, it is an occasion to consider an assemblage of the rooms in relation to themselves and their “next larger context”. Then, the
assemblage of habitable rooms is to be located within the Waterloo Courtyard at the Singapore Art Museum (SAM) as an architectural folly. The design of the folly is to consider the courtyard’s contextual issues, such as: the scale, the environmental conditions, and the rituals supported by the courtyard and museum.

Siting: Waterloo Courtyard, Singapore Art Museum
Source of Inspiration: Ice Crystal Lattice
The Spatial Configuration is such that it allows water to cascade down by gravity from the top to the bottom and to be collected in the reflective pool at ground level.
Facade Design: Porous glass louvres to allow natural ventilation while provide protection from the rain.
Along its route, the pathway is to allow inhabitants:
• To walk alongside the trough
• To cross over the trough
• To be above the trough
• To be below the trough
• To walk in the (space of) trough
Along its route, the pathway is to bring inhabitants to rooms (four rooms, minimum):
• To view water
• To be in water
• To hear water
• To be surrounded (three-quarters, minimum) by water
• That are connected by water
• That contain water
• That are defined by water (perimeter)
• That are above water
