The illustration I created is inspired by Scandinavian mythology. It depicts Odin - the highest of northern gods. He is the god of war and warriors and deity of wisdom, poetry and magic.

Here he is shown on his eight-legged horse - Sleipnir.

 

The illustration is executed in the technique of linocut (matrix visible beneath).

 

The work still progresses as I attempt to create illustrations of majority of northern gods.
