These are a selection of recent oil paintings of the female figure wearing the kimono and sari. I wish to convey the delicate nature of the embroidered patterns and painted flowers found on these kinds of national dress. The challenge was to show the different textures convincingly while maintaining a peaceful mood overall. The different settings change the mood of the work dramatically, with the white brick of my studio helping to give a life and positivity to the model and the dark more vibrant colours lending a bit of drama.

The models are  friends and the scenes are entirely placed in my working studio.
