Compound Deterioration

This body of work is dedicated to a place where a lot of the teens of my generation grew within ourselves from the crazy, and the bad, along with the lovely moments shared at this beautiful place; located in the eye of MLK, not the best neighborhood in Sarasota, FL.

This place was called "The Compound" by the people who loved it, and also visited it. With only a fence blocking The Compound from the outside world (did not always keep the best protection) there was a lot of co-creation that happened here. What it is most famous for to some locals, would be the insane parties that the people who lived in the rooms here would throw.

The lot was recently bought by Ringling College of Art and Design after 5 years of debating whether they would be doing so or not. They will be replacing The Compound with a new sound stage for the Film Department.

In memory, for the people and myself, I have documented the deterioration of this place to match with old photographs of the life that once filled the place.
