With the project, I taught myself how to use the digital publication software, Mag+. I picked Outside magazine, since their digital publication isn't just a digitized pdf, but rather involved an element of design. The digital app isn't just a shot-by-shot recreation of the print edition, and I think this allows for growth in the digital sphere, which is largely underutilized by many current magazines.

I set up a few layouts featuring their front-of-the-book section, Destinations, and the feature story from their August 2014 issue. Using their content and photos, here was what I came up with! I really love the direction that Outside is going. They truly make reading their magazine an inclusive experience by just going that extra mile, having usable, interesting content both in print and digital venues.
