Imperial's staff newspaper Reporter aims to share stories of Imperial’s community and to highlight individual and College achievements. This was the main feature and editorial spread for the results of the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014. The REF is an exercise that assesses the quality of academic research, and is very important for universities and academics. The results determine how much research funding they are granted, as well as help to determine institutions’ rankings in league tables.
