Chance - Pinhole (Do not touch with your wet hands)

Train station  5sec exposure
The idea for this project is to create a small book with image and text and relate them by pure chance.
The whole project is based on chance. In every stage of it, chance took a big role to the development of the project:

An old teacher of mine randomly decided to give me a box of 25 medium format, 6,5x9cm 400 ISO AGFA photographic film with a best before date of 1985. As I didn't own a camera for that kind of format I decided to create a pinhole for that specific format, and fotograph everything arond me.

Every picture came out diferently than I imagined. Pinhole fotography is a very uncertain method of photography, it can either come out perfect, or the framework can come out diferent than imagined, or even a dog can knock off the camera while it is exposing.
Another unpredictability occurs because of the age of the film. It was impossible to know if the film would even capture something.

Anyway, this is a work in progress so I'll keep you updated.

Contact prints and enlargements in process
Today, as I proceded with the enlargements I decided to create 2 books complementing each other. One with the vertical photos the other with the horizontal ones. This enables me to explore the full size of the paper without loosing perception of the photographs.

I also thought about the cover. In orther to use the same paper and idea of the content of the book, I thought about using cameraless photography or photogram technic to write the text. It also leaves room for chance to act upon the process of creating the cover. AsI'm now creating two books, I might make two diferent covers, one with black text on white paper and it's negative.
