Dreams and Faces
A-Level, Year 1, Unit 1
This is my first A-Level project, just when I was coming into my prime. I don't remember the name of the theme, or if there even was one. I think we just had to be inspired by work from the British Museum and The National Gallery. I based my Minor project on dreams and worked through Photoshop to create photo manipulations reminiscent of Dali's work.

My photoshop 'expertise' was in it's early days and I improvised a lot but I still love what I did.
So the next part of my project was the Major section. For this I was inspired by the variety of masks in the British Museum so I decided to create my own masks using clay, plaster bandage, and face paint.

I made an Egyptian mask from clay, a Roman laurel wreath from clay glued to a cardboard mask, a masquerade mask from plaster bandage decorated with charms, ribbons and lace, an anime mask with face paints and a Roy Litchenstein inspired pop art mask also with face paint.
