Black & White Film Photography
35mm Camera
At Cégep John Abbott College, I was given the opportunity to broaden my skills in photography in a black & white film photography class with teacher Suzanne Girard. I learned the tools and techniques of camera functions, film exposure, film development and fine printing in the black room. In this course I was introduced to the history and aesthetics of the medium, as well as to its place in the contemporary world of digital images. By working on technical exercises, I created a portfolio that demonstrates technical proficiency and expresses my developing artistic vision.
Following this course, I proceeded to learn digital photography techniques, as well as gaining experience and skills with digital imaging software.
Also at Cégep John Abbott College, I wrote an integrative social science research project on photography's place and evolution throughout history and culture.
