This 2012 painting was created to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the RMS Titanic. It's a pretty simple composition, and I used a rough 3D model of the Titanic to get her graceful lines in the proper perspective. Once I managed to get the straight lines of her sides and razor-sharp prow reconciled with the curve of the upper deck and swooping rigging, it was a fairly simple job.
It was far more complicated to depict the bow of the Titanic on the ocean flow, but you can read about that process here: https://www.behance.net/gallery/24344869/Titanic-Wreck-Painting
