The brief for this project was to package typography and I chose the sans-serif font 'Futura'. This typeface is based on geometric shapes, so I thought that I would use this to influence the way that I made the packaging. The simple geometric forms of the letters are reflected in the pyramid shaped base of the packaging. I chose a brightly patterned paper to make the inner pyramid, as I wanted to create a contrast against the minimal style of lettering. A transparent layer of acetate surrounds the inner part of the pyramid shape and is tied at the top by a simple string bow. The idea is that you untie the pyramid and therefore release the inner typeface. There is a pyramid for each letter, spelling out the word 'Futura'.
