The task of this exercise was to find and examine the force's balance of an existing sculpture, after which we had to make our own new sculpture.
I worked together with two other people and we started from the analysis of Calatrava's sculpture Head XIB, made of a wooden cube kept by an iron beam and made stable by tie-rods anchored to a wooden base.
We studied both sculptures with a simplified 2d model, obtaining the normal, shear and bending moment stress diagrams.
