Silver Lady - from Star Trek The Original Series
Inspired by the elegance of the starship Enterprise, this dress features a structured gown with lights hidden in the glowing nacelles and in the hood, the light the iconic NCC 1701 classification.

Much like Scotty in TOS, I love the Enterprise. The ship is just as important of a character in Star Trek as any other crew member. The Silver Lady is elegant, advanced, and warm. She's part of the crew's family as well as their home. I wanted to design a couture dress that combined her silver elegance with her technological beauty, without reading as cold chrome or robotic. Taking inspiration from the structured gowns of couturier Charles James and the elegant gowns of the 50s and 60s, I created a gown that would represent the Silver Lady without being a 'spaceship costume'.
The body of the dress evokes the plates of the ship with geometric seam lines and the added nacelles at the hip create the classic Enterprise silhouette. They also glow with light, shining through layers of tulle and iridescent organza. Of course, what is Star Trek without space? The Silver Lady wears an almost eight foot cloak of hand-painted space fabric with an added hood to flip up and display the iconic NCC 1701 classification. The end result is a vintage inspired structured gown decked with a billow slice of space.
