Concept
Gotham is known to be a non-decorative and straightforward typeface. This is emphasized with a minimal number of poster elements and simple textual placements. Additionally, Gotham is commonly used in New York City settings and much of New York City signage abbreviates numerous services and products to its first letter (i.e. "T" is for taxi). As a result, a giant "G" for Gotham embodies and holds true to its most popular usage.
