One of the pieces in my final year project, focused on the dilution of graphic design in the 21st centry due to techonolgy and changing perceptions of graphic design.
The project is an investigation into Graphic Design’s fall from grace. It touches on uncovering how technology during the later 21st century affected Graphic Design. With the computer going from rarity to something seen in everyday society, Graphic Design found itself becoming democratized as a profession. The project analyzes what other factors has diluted Graphic Design as a profession, such as emerging business models, and the trend catching on of homogenized design lacking uniqueness or individuality.

To illustrate the topic better, the book transitions through several styles that graphic design went through the years. It starts of with a modernist, swiss styled layout design. This is followed by the experimental post modernism era seen during the mid 80's when computers turned into an everyday part of life. Finally, the last part of the book shows how trendy editorial graphic design looks today, and also employs a neutral look since it's meant to conclude the topic.
