Reason to chose the topic: the issue real exists in Vietnam. Women who is the victims does not have enough courage to take action( ask for supporting, speak up, call the police) to protect themselves and avoiding suffering day by day.
Research issue in Vietnam:
Among victims of domestic violence, only 6% went to hospital for medical assistance,16 percent bought medicines to treat themselves at home, and 52 percent left the wounds to heal by themselves (research done by the Center on Women’s Health and Family).
The results of these studies show that domestic violence against woman damages the physical and mental health of the woman, it causes constant stress and worry to every family member.
More important, Women, who worry most about peace in the family, are usually quiet and hide the evidence of abuse. The victims only report their husbands when they can no longer stand the abuse. In many localities, the local authorities, mass organizations, and the community consider the action of a husband beating his wife as a private affair.
FINAL DESIGN CONCEPT:
Concept:
After a long time of marriage, the man changes his behavior into a violent one. Instead of giving her love like before, he abuses her frequently even in her special days( birthday, Woman’s day, Christmas…).
Message:
Take action, Never accept being abused
(After doing research about domestic violence in Vietnam, I realize that many women keep silence and suffering alone without report about husband’s violent behaviors. Women have been suffering a lot and feel themselves so weak and shy to speak up. After suffering day by day, they tend to accept it. I want to tell them that they should take action (ask for supporting, speak up, call the police) to rescue themselves from hurting.
