Basic Design was commissioned by Lupii Cafe to design, build and install the interior furnishings for this unique coffee shop. As Vancouver's first zero waste coffee shop, Lupii Cafe challenged us to use 100% upcycled materials in the production of this interior space. We were up to the challenge and made use of totally unique materials, including a reclaimed gymnasium floor as table and countertops, construction rebar for legs, and piles of repurposed cedar and plywood - all of which amounted to about two 1-ton truckloads of waste diverted from the landfill!
