The Omniana Yearbook is characterized by three different volumes coming together to mark an end and a beginning. It is a milepost that marks the end of the academic journey and the beginning of the road ahead for the graduates of Notre Dame of Marbel University. The central symbol of class 2013's Omniana Yearbook is a circle. Flanked by filigree, geometric patterns, and sparks, the circle holds together the innumerable facets of an endless quest for knowledge.
Box design artwork before and after adding texture and bevel details. I wanted it to look dark and cryptic like some proper grimoire but I also want it to look bright and golden like an art deco metalwork.
The Omniana 2013 Yearbook is comprised of three volumes (green for the university administration's messages to the graduates and various scholastic literature, blue for the fashion shots of each graduate of the year, and red for the formal shots and academic achievements of the graduates). Each of the volumes feature a different theme that reflect their content.
The theme for the first volume is green to symbolize academic growth nurtured by the university. The second volume, filled with sparks and shards and facets of color, brings into mind everyone's complexity and vibrance - their hidden spark one only needs to kindle. The last volume invokes a sense of authority and confidence, qualities that would be instrumental to each graduate's future.
Simplified symbols to hold the theme together for the flyleaves used for each volume.
