The Drama Ministry held its second Drama Fest – an annual event aimed at showcasing to audiences a variety of drama theatre genres — at Suntec Convention Centre in September 2013. Inaugurated in 2012, the Drama Fest consists of performances put up by the Drama Ministry's actors, as well as a pool of 'triple-threat' performers from its Musical Theater group.
A significant enhancement to 2013's Drama Fest as compared to the previous year is that all performances were written by the Drama Ministry's in-house scriptwriters. Drama Fest 2013 also welcomed a new addition to its vast array of genres – short films. A total of three short films were showcased, with themes that revolved around dreams, aspirations, chances and family relationships.
The programme booklet includes words from the theatre directors, synopsis of the plays/films/musicals, cast list, as well as a special note from the scriptwriter director to her pupils. The booklet is designed to have a simple and rustic theme to it.
In addition to designing the programme booklet, it is also an honor to be presented with the opportunity to craft and write one of the scripts that was ultimately chosen to be made into short film. Featured specially for Drama Fest 2013, the script is titled 'Chasing Donkeys'. The story revolves around a girl who dreams of leaving a legacy as a fine arts artist, but things does not go as planned when she comes back to Singapore. Her concept of how her bright future should be like is further challenged by her mysterious neighbour, as she struggles to find closure to the past.

Writing a script is not directly related to copywriting, but I am very satisfied to continually hone my skills in writing (and design) through this event.
