The 1,700-square foot space is designed as a GANT Rugger neighborhood shop on Abbot Kinney Boulevard in Venice Beach - one of the hottest retail strips in the USA.
The L.A. location exudes a fresh, more modern aesthetic than previous GANT Rugger locations, while still main- taining its signature vintage feel. The open concept shop feels light and airy with large skylights, natural woods and a soothing color palate. The walls are a mix of white sub- way tiles and showcase a mid-century Danish modern Cado wall system, designed by Poul Cadovius. To keep the atmosphere clean and crisp, a checkerboard pattern with the brand’s historical diamond “G” icon is painted on a repurposed hard wood floor sourced from an old school gymnasium. The shop is furnished with a mixture of vintage 1950’s teak furni- ture and two modern brass, wood, and tile fixtures creat- ed by local Venice craftsman Eric Gustafson. The store also includes a tanker desk cash wrap, vintage school house lighting, an exposed natural wood ceiling, and a unique wall of vintage doors on slid- ers that serve as access to the dressing rooms.
