Morning starts with a cup of filter coffee and reading newspaper (particularly, “the hindu”) for Chennai people. The aroma of coffee starts the day. Irrespective of what time you drop into a home in Chennai, they will most probably offer a cup full of filter coffee in “davarah or dabarah set”.
The fabrics used are naturally dyed on cotton and pure silk. Filter coffee powder and iron fillings were used for dyeing. The natural dye created a nice texture on silk fabric. The newspaper is also done using natural dye – coffee on cotton fabric and the details are done using embroidery.
