Beautiful Body Acceptance (BBA) is a blog, authored by Lane Mckelvey, focusing on eating disorder recovery. We wanted the logo to reflect the hope, perseverance, and strength required to remain in the recovery-oriented frame of mind. The blues of the color palette exude a calming feeling, while the purples represent faith and spirituality.
We chose the blue lotus flower for it's cultural symbolism. The flower is representative of control over one's physical senses or compulsion; "mind-over-matter". It is used as a symbol for knowledge, wisdom, and intelligence. The flower, only partially opened, represents the idea of endless learning, as every day creates a new opportunity for growth of wisdom while traveling on a road to recovery.
