Well designed info-graphics are the bread and butter of the broadcast industry.  They provide easily understood information regarding various topics.  I designed these info-graphics for the Sochi Olympics on NBC.  They illustrate different dimensions of the terrain for various winter sports, using modern, clean widgets and 3D illustrations.  They were shown during the live olympic broadcast while a sports anchor explained the dimensions.
