The projection is generated by a networked system of surveillance cameras, a microphone, and a computer. The visualization changes in correlation with the developing flow of information sent to the computer by the networked sensors, creating an audio/visual composite of the surrounding space. Motion, time, and noise are all variables which passively affect the resulting stream of imagery, causing this system to exist as simultaneously a producer and its product. Time does not change but is the very form of change itself.
AUTOPOEISIS is an installation which employs surveillance cameras as sensors which deliver input into a greater system constructed on PureData. The video output is then negotiated by a microphone input, which allows the videos to bleed into each other depending on the overall loudness of the space at a specific time.
