Project
I created a logo proposal for a band named NicSon, as a professional project.
The client had a very specific vision which lead me to hand lettering the logo. They wanted to use the color purple, to have the "S" as the focal point, and the type to be cursive.
Digital Roughs
After the sketching phase, I moved onto created digital roughs in Adobe Illustrator. I prefer to create monochromatic roughs to focus on the shapes and the positive and negative space.
My first draft was definitely rough, the curls were uneven, but I wanted to make sure I liked the direction it was going in before moving forward.
The next draft feels very smooth and balanced, which means it's time to add some color!
Final Logo
I used a slight gradient for the color and added a drop shadow to create some depth.
