People, mostly men, look at me differently when I tell them I've written Spider-Man, the X-Men and the Hulk. There's this weird reverence, as if I completed some dream they've secretly harbored since childhood, like flying a fighter jet or winning a shoot-out.
I wrote prose short stories for Untold Tales of Spider-Man, The Ultimate Hulk, The Ultimate X-Men, and The Ultimate Super-Villains, all published by Penguin/Berkeley, to fan acclaim. Hell, I even did a signing in a New Jersey mall. Most people aren't jealous of that part, though.
