The project brief was to design an artisan product of choice.

Presented here is Buttermilk which is often sold at stalls or dairies across India. 

 

Client: an around-the-corner dairy which makes and serves this drink. 

Shelf life: 1 day.

Buttermilk is a sweet or savoury serving of beaten yogurt diluted with water. It is usally and optionally seasoned with herbs and spices. It is served as a drink usually accompanying lunch as it acts as a body coolant and a digestive.

 

Product Name: Matka (Hindi)
Meaning: Earthen Pot.
 

Since this drink is exclusive only to India, it was only natural to experiment with the national language, Hindi.

The product being an artisan product, the type is also organic. The hand written type compliments the organic nature of the productIt is comfort food and it promotes a very personal experience thus the choice of language and type style.
