Jenny Holzer, the renowned projection artist, is the prime inspiration for this project. I was asked to select an artist I admired and revert and "subvert" their work. I honed in on Holzer's projection art, as well as her early career ideas of her stong and feminist truisms.
Her projection work was large scale, often projected onto buildings, cliffs or huge structures worldwide. With strong typography, she displayed sayings that were often feminist, political, rash, blunt and to the point. For my project, I chose to create projections that were quite the opposite.
As for her truisms, I chose to revert her idea by printing and publically displaying small rants on vibrant colored cardstock.
