Greetings is a visual exploration of the word hello that uses lettering, ornamentation, pattern, and color to create an image. The style of the lettering is borrowed from different visual aesthetics of a country where the language is spoken. Before starting each piece a collection of visual inspirations was gathered relating to the country the lettering pertained to. For example when starting on English I thought about what is iconic and symbolizes the United States. I realized that not much is more American than baseball and went from there. The ultimate goal is for the pieces to bring a smile to peoples faces and to give them a glimpse into foreign aesthetics that they may not encounter otherwise on a daily basis.
