Franklin Gothic was a fanzine designed for first year students that were learning about typography and its characteristics. I was assigned Franklin Gothic typography. In order to construct the fanzine, I had to make an extensive research about its history, context, most common uses, characteristics, etc. I started investigating about the industrial revolution and changed the red and black colors for yellow and purple in order to make it more attractive. Then I created a layout that helped me expose all the important information without making the fanzine boring or too extended.
One of the common uses for Franklin Gothic was in newspapers and printed press so I folded the fanzine in a newspaper way. Through the investigation process I found lots of theories and rumors that included Benjamin Franklin and the typography. I decided to create a cool illustration that explained those rumors. The illustration was used as a poster in the fanzine and in a t-shirt and tote bag.

Franklin Gothic es un fanzine inspirado en la tipografía homónima que explora la historia de su creador, creación y algunas características morfológicas. El fanzine trae en su respaldo una ilustración que hace referencia a algunos de los rumores existentes entorno a la fuente y su relación con Benjamin Franklin.
El proyecto fue desarrollado para estudiantes de los primeros semestres del programa de diseño y buscaba ser una introducción al universo tipográfico. Adicional al fanzine se desarrollaron camisetas y tote bags para entregar en conjunto.
