Project description
This was a solo project where I designed and illustrated all of the book's elements and wrote the narrative as well.
"Soos 'n Bulldog" (Like a Bulldog) is an Afrikaans narrative about Hester Venter, a flamboyant and vigorous 75 year-old grandmother. She is the South African 100 meter sprint champion and took part in the 2015 World Masters Athletics Championships in France.
The illustrations and text are printed on see-through tracing paper as a metaphor for Hester's life. Each page contains an image and piece of text that forms a vital part of her life. Only when all the pages are combined one can see the bigger picture - a collage of the memories that form a chapter of her life.
