This poster was created for an imaginary event called the "Mostly Mozart Festival." Using Adobe Photoshop, the goal of this project was to focus on design principles. Balance is created through the repetition of images of Mozart and Beethoven. Unity is created through the repetition of the image of Mozart and Beethoven. Contiuation is felt through the S-shaped path of images. The sequencing of the items also creates visual rhythm. Rhythm is also created through the layout of the text in Severance Hall. The varying horizontal and vertical directions create visual flow. The juxtoposition of Mozart standing to the sitting Beethoven also creates rhythm. Typography principles were used when approaching the horizontal and vertical, yet simple font of the text. I thought about doing a highly-decorative font to fit with the "old times" but design principles say that this is not necessary and it often can look tacky. However, if I were to decide to change the title of the festival, making that an older font would be okay, and then continuing on with simpler fonts to follow.
