DUEL
Two Ju-jitsu black belts engaged in a duel.
I aimed to capture a martial arts battle in extreme slow motion to highlight the intricacies of the movements.
The shoot was entirely improvised and completed in four hours using two 500-watt construction lights and a GH1 camera (gh13 hack), equipped with a 50mm Canon FD lens and a Panasonic Lumix 14-140mm lens.
I filmed at 60 FPS to achieve the super slow-motion effect, and performed editing and color correction in After Effects. The music and sound effects were produced in Acid.
Mario Fyfe and Dominic Lague served as both the fight choreographers and actors in the film. My role encompassed shooting, directing, editing, and composing the music.
