Microsoft Surface Trade Show Brochure

The Challenge

Microsoft is sponsoring a trade show exhibit for the second line of their Surface tablets, and they required a brochure to be handed out at the exhibit. The brochure will round out the information that will be displayed at the trade show, as well as give showgoers an opening as to questions they could ask the representatives at the exhibit. The brochure must clearly promote the product and communicate a clear message while staying true to the brand’s personality.

The Solution

A brochure is an opportunity for the brand to show their product in an exciting and engaging way. It should not be a simple advertisement, it should go into more detail about the product and it’s features. To add interest and fun to the design of the brochure, I used the concept of “windows” throughout the piece. The concept relates to Microsoft’s Windows logo, and I chose to communicate that through die cuts that show a part of the image on the panel underneath, like a window. The viewer’s process of interacting with the “windows” creates interest in and memorability of the content.
