Headlines-Drake, CD Cover Redesigned

This is redesigned album cover. Headlines was released in 2012 and the artist was Drake. I made this album cover in class, my class was doing this so we could learn about the creative process. The creative process would help us in the future when we logos are needed to be made.  This assignment also taught me how to rebrand. As we seem very often now retailers are always rebranding themselves. As a graphic designer you must be able to know how to rebrand the product.
Why:

Everything in this redesigned album cover has a reason and or purpose. The city is Toronto that is the city that Drake talks about, represents and raps about in many of his songs. This city has great importance to him and his music. This Album design was meant to look like a newspaper as if his new album Headlines was making the headlines in the news. The background is a texture that involves grey, grey is a color which is mostly used in newspapers. It contains the date it was published, artist and location. Some of the lights are on in this album cover because albums are usually released around midnight. These individuals were waiting for this album and were up late at night resulting in the lights being on.
Colors:
I chose the colors Grey and red for various reasons. One grey provides the album with texture that makes it look like a newspaper. Red stands out when on grey which allows the individual to emphasis the title.

Grey: Doesn't represent many emotions.

Red: Represents strenght, desire, determination and love.
