Garment Design and Production Fall 2015
Jumper Tote considers my experience growing up with Japanese culture, specifically regarding its aesthetic preoccupation with arrangement and containers and everything having a proper place, and how this aesthetic can be traced to hierarchical social structures. This garment can be worn as a jumper and pant set featuring pockets that ask for the wearer's hands, thereby forcing the wearer to bow. When removed, the jumper can be folded and converted into a tote bag to hold its pants.
