The Elusive Search for Happiness

There once lived two girls in very different worlds.
One was perpetually happy, despite the very unfortunate fact that she lived in the darkest, gloomiest world of despair.
The darkness made her appreciate even the tiniest bit of good that managed to come her way, and she was always in good cheer.
The other girl lived in a bright, magical world filled with rainbows and unicorns, but she was constantly unhappy, for nothing could meet her ridiculously high standards and expectations. She felt as if she would never be happy, and her growing discontent gnawed at her heart, in hopeless misery.
One day, the two girls met. As they stared at each other in amazement, a moment of understanding passed between them.

A determined smile spread across both their faces, as they reached out their pale fingers to the other. Carefully, quickly, they swapped an eyeball each, and felt that now they could see things from a proper and balanced perspective.
