2016 WORD drawings/paintings

January 14, 2016
In this project photocopies of 11 x 17" line drawings I made for my equine-centric art friends are being developed, colorized or transformed by us.
Donkeys are owned by Kristin and Cheryl; horses by Joan, Jeanette, Elizabeth, Maryl and me (Mary).
Line drawings are based on each woman's guiding "word" chosen for 2016.
Many of the line drawings are from photos we have taken in the process of documenting our "natural" training work with horses and donkeys.
Elizabeth's word UNRAVEL is being brought to life here by Kristin
Completed drawing by Kristin shows her beloved, magnificent BLM donkey OD on the left with her partner Cheryl's dear, smaller JJ on the right. "Du chevre" (goat cheese) represents Elizabeth's desire for dairy goats in 2016!
Maryl's word is NO, very popular with all of us since how can you have time for YES to do what you want if you aren't saying NO to other things?
Kristin's version of Maryl's word NO
My version of Maryl's word NO
The drawing for Cheryl's word LISTEN says "What are they saying? Lend me an ear, Shhhhh and Listen"
Cheryl works on her drawing.
Another UNRAVEL drawing shows cheeses, goats plus a yurt because Elizabeth has always had a burning desire for "3 goats and a yurt."
Elizabeth works on her drawing.
Elizabeth's completed version of UNRAVEL.
My version of Elizabeth's word UNRAVEL.
My drawing for my word FIRE includes a sketch of this photo of me at age 4 or 5.
My version of my drawing for FIRE (though the word has become obliterated). The smaller sketch is from photo of me after a year in Catholic school in France.
