MINUS is a fictional conference that focuses on the visual concept of "less is more" One crucial question to be discussed at this conference is that does this “minimalist technique” effectively motivate artists to be communicative in a creative way or just the opposite; that is lack of creativity in their compositions. Advocates see it as stripping their subject matter down to the bare essentials to make simple but still representational messages. The detractors on the other hand see it as nothing more than an empty presentation resulting from the artist’s laziness.
This conference will present workshops that will attract both seasoned and incoming designers alike with a new insight in creating minimalist posters that if done right will act as a very powerful communication tool. There will also be a discussion on the physical vs. digital aspects of minimalism and lastly; a lively debate attracting both lovers and detractors in the use of minimalism when making Minimalistic Posters.
While working with this flexible identity I tried to incorporate the idea of "stripping to the bare essentials." To have all the required information there but to design it in a simple and clean way without losing too much.
