An art and science kit for children aged 7+. Create your own glowing petri dish paintings inspired by bioluminescence. This educational bundle contains a 16 page illustrated bioguide; providing an insight into the beautiful World of bioluminescence. Includes photographs of bioluminescent organisms from the depths of the oceans to the fertile breadth of the forests.
After being introduced to the theory of bioluminescence, assisted by helpful pronunciations; the bioguide outlines a simple laboratory procedure for you to practise. After following the clear instructions you will be given a creative task; whilst you can refer to inspirational images of bioluminescent organisms to design your own glow in the dark petri dish artwork.
The biopod was designed to inspire children; applying biological and scientific theory for creative outputs. It is an experience, a concept for a proposed educational tool that puts content ahead of profitable return. It contains genuine laboratory apparatus that will get children excited. From the packaging to the layouts of each individual page within the bioguide, this concept was produced by an illustration and visual communication student; thoroughly intrigued in the interdisciplinary world of art and science.
