Symmetry (Performance)
2015
text reads: I see it in my mother's eyes. Swing open, swing shut. Tight and precise. Open, loose, dangerous. The duality is a progression, has no binary basis. A painful close symmetry, she sees herself in me. Cut threads, sculpt edges. Smooth as skin, smooth as paper. A bite. Tears well in her eyes. A blink. A snip. Symmetry again, metallic-smooth and careful. I'd draw it as a tattoo on her spine, when they open-slide she is rent in two. Delineated.
