Digest is a program written in Processing that analyzes the New York Times home page. 

 

The program randomly selects one headline and one description from the NYT RSS feed and analyzes the characters of the headline text to produce the images. Each character corresponds to a specific image, and the images load with the syntax of the phrase. The placement and size of the images is random within a set of loose parameters. The images come from a set of slides purchased at an estate sale. 

glean is a mobile application concept designed to make randomized yet deliberate online purchases. 

 

The app syncs with the user’s Amazon or Apple Pay accounts and makes purchases from the user’s wishlist within their specified budget. The glean app has a limited interface and instead uses a mobile and desktop browser extension to seamlessly integrate with the user’s online shopping flow.
