Godfather Death is one among the many fairy tales collected by the Grimm Brothers in the 19th century. A cautionary fable, it is a warning of humility- always honor the balance of life and death. However, while distinct in tone and rich with imagery, it is a story that has remained in relative obscurity. Uncommonly told, and rarely ever illustrated, I wanted to bring my favorite fairy tale to visualization for my fall 2015 thesis.
