“As an artist, I have been intimately involved with the California landscape since moving to the Napa Valley in 1977. I have continuously investigated new ideas and techniques by intense observation of the luminous hills, skies, water and the dialogue between land, sea and light. My paintings are an attempt to translate the real and abstract lyrical qualities of my environment. I want the viewer to feel the bright dryness of a summer afternoon, the chilly privacy of an ocean sunset or the hills above a valley vista on a foggy winter morning.”
