The Palace of Illusions is a title sequence based on a book written by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni inspired on a Hindu mythology. It was created in collaboration with Subhash Sree. We wanted to create a look and feel that correctly portrayed the time period and the grand scale of the India’s biggest battle. Inspired from the title sequence of Marco Polo we played with the concept of simple ink reveals. To us the true beauty of the design was in its simplicity and the transitions that revealed the characters and scenes from the book.
